about

Compilation of music I've written for various game jam events (timed competition/challenge to quickly make a game from scratch based around a theme) in the past few years. Most of these games are unavailable to play and/or extremely unfinished (and probably won't be finished or public), but I thought this would be a great place to share the music of them at least publicly!

Cyberpunk Arctic Colony Pinball - Sept 2015
- For a 24 hour jam. This game barely even got started, but I got to spend a lot of time focusing on making cool music for it! The theme and what the game was is exactly in the title, to combine "cyberpunk", "arctic" and "pinball".

Ancient Cyber-Technology Beanbag Toss - Sept 2016
- Another 24 hour one. The theme here was "backyard games" and we decided to take that entirely out of context and make the core of a beanbag toss game seem like an intimidating test in mystically powered ancient ruins.

Temporal Shock - Jan 2015
- This was a 48 hour game jam with the theme combination of "electricity" "time" and "puns". Obviously with my style of music this theme combo was absolutely perfect for me! We wound up making this a 3d platformer, time travel functionality never got in the game though so the two tracks are both used in the single past/future mix level and doesn't fit with the intended context at all.

Masks of the Demon - Jan 2016
- This one was for Global Game Jam, a 48 hour international jam. Our game was never publicly shared anywhere or finished, but it may be the jam/game I look back on the most fondly of so far. I'm also very pleased with how the soundtrack turned out. The theme for this was "ritual" and our game was a top down 3D Zelda-like revolving around exploring elemental themed dungeons.

Dechipped - Sept 2014
- The music I did for this one is the set I'm least happy with by far, but maybe you'll still enjoy it! On top of me not really having a good workflow for writing music fast down yet, we only had 18 hours to work on this one, so along with everything else I was doing for the game I didn't get much time to spend on the music. The game was a puzzle-focused point-and-click adventure game where you played as a cute ferret. The themes the game was required to combine were "steampunk" "cute but deadly" and "space" if I remember correctly.

Waves of Whimsy - Jan 2017
- The longest soundtrack of them all, also for Global Game Jam. I got to spend most of my time working on the music, unlike the others I didn't really do anything else for the game other than brainstorm. The theme here was "waves" and the game was a cute 2d platformer where the concept was bringing more color to an empty colorless world as you heard new sounds that matched those colors (blue water droplets, green leaves blowing in the wind, etc). It didn't really see full fruition unfortunately but I'm definitely glad it inspired me to make the very music it did!
